Youth Ministry

(continued from main page) This includes activities like welcome and announcements, preaching in our Sunday morning prayer sessions as well as at our Tuesday prayer and encouraging the church on Free Will Offering. "Our youth are generally involved in many activities in the church.  You find them in ushering, worship, media and the hospitality ministries. It becomes more special when you place them in the spot light of public speaking. It gives me an opportunity to assess them and groom them as their coach, and this we have been doing for some years now. I believe there are leaders in them hence we often creat this room for them." Pastor Tshililo said.

The youth constitute the majority of membership in the church (approximately 200 Youth in the church). We thank God that the youth ministry is up and running vibrantly.  The senior pastor, Pastor Tshililo, takes the lead in the ministry.

During the year 2011, the ministry started with regular Fridays services.  We teach them on matters that directly concern them.  Our teachings range from love and marriage matters, education and responsibility. We value our youth and by God’s grace we tend to get the right ways of dealing with them.  No wonder, 4 of our youth, matured of course, finally made 2 family couples and were blessed in the church.  We still hope for God’s guidance to do more and better for our youth in 2013.Beside teachings, we are also aware that youth are an active band and they need to play and engage with each other.  We plan for them some social gatherings to meet such needs.  In 2011 we sent them to an outdoor facility, some kilometres away from Polokwane, The Drift where they played sweat out of themselves as they slided, swam and danced.  As if that was not enough, we gave them a treat for the year, a Gala Dinner at the Royal Hotel Polokwane, one of the best hotels in the city.  The function was graced by 214 youth as we closed the year.
