Hospital Ministry

The Hospitality Ministry is one of the key ministries that channels God’s love to the people.  We view the church as a home for God’s people and people should feel that way.  We are aware that in one way or the other, people get lonely and need company.
Beside praise and worship and the preaching of the word on a Sunday church service, congregants gather around light meals: juice or tea with scones and by so doing people really feel at home as they merge and find brothers and sisters they could confide to in the Lord.

The Samaritan Ministry

The Hospitality Ministry also has a wing called the Samaritan Basket.  This Basket is aimed at assisting youth and non workers in the church with basic necessities:  bath soaps, body lotions, tooth pastes and brushes, bath towels, sanitary pads, perfumes and many others.  Workers in the church, as they buy for their families, they also keep contributing to the Basket to keep it alive.  We are aware that most youth in the province are from poor backgrounds and we know that prayer alone cannot sort them out.  We do this as we observe the word of God in Deuteronomy 15:11, “For your poor will never cease from the land; therefore I command you, saying, ‘You shall open your hand wide to your brother, to your poor and your needy, in your land.’”  We thank God for His people who are aware of this basic and important ministry.  We pray that as they give, more shall be given to them as per the word of God.
For a while since our existence in Polokwane, we have seen Charis becoming a home for many. There is also a ministry that is aimed at the sick; members of the church or their relatives, be it at their homes or at any hospital around Polokwane City.  Any case is made known to the team and they visit and pray with the sick.
